Mansion Sports – Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has clarified the latest developments surrounding the future of Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško, a player who has drawn serious interest from several elite European clubs. 

Romano confirmed that Šeško has chosen Manchester United as his next destination and dismissed any reports suggesting that the forward had previously agreed to join Newcastle United.

This confirmation aligns with reports from The Athletic, which also noted that Šeško’s move to Old Trafford is now nearing its final stages.

Fabrizio Romano: Šeško Never Agreed to Join Newcastle United

In a statement released through his official YouTube channel, Romano firmly stated that Šeško never gave the green light to Newcastle or any other club during this summer's transfer window.

Instead, the 22-year-old striker has reached a personal agreement exclusively with Manchester United, which includes a long-term contract running until June 2030.

“Benjamin Šeško has reached a personal agreement with Manchester United,” Romano declared.

“So, despite the various reports over the past few days—and I respect all of them—I can guarantee that Šeško has not committed to any club other than Manchester United.”

Romano further elaborated that the agreement between the player and United was finalized on Tuesday following a series of positive negotiations. 

The final documentation was officially exchanged and signed by both parties on Wednesday morning, bringing the transfer one step closer to completion.

A Long-Term Investment Despite Modest Scoring Numbers

While Šeško’s goal-scoring record may not yet place him among Europe’s most prolific strikers, his age and vast potential make him an intriguing long-term investment for Manchester United.

At just 22, the Slovenian forward is regarded as a talent capable of significant development under the right guidance.

This summer, Manchester United—now under the leadership of new manager Rúben Amorim—has prioritized signing players with proven Premier League experience, such as Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford and Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. 

Within this broader recruitment strategy, Šeško is viewed as a complementary piece in a newly reshaped attacking line that aims to be more dynamic and effective.

Unlike Mbeumo and Cunha, who are expected to deliver immediate impact, Šeško is considered a developmental project.
