Mansion Sports - The conflict between Newcastle United and their star striker, Alexander Isak, has escalated significantly. 

Just hours after Isak publicly accused the club of breaking promises and declared their relationship beyond repair, The Magpies released a strong official statement in response.

This dispute marks another dramatic chapter in one of the most captivating transfer sagas of the summer. While Isak has repeatedly expressed his desire to leave, Newcastle shows no signs of conceding.

Newcastle Denies Any Broken Promises

In their statement, Newcastle United expressed disappointment over Isak’s social media post. The club emphasized that the Swedish forward remains under contract and categorically denied any agreement that would have allowed him to depart this summer.

“We are disappointed to have read Alexander Isak’s social media post this evening. We state clearly that Alex remains under contract and that there has never been any commitment from club officials permitting him to leave Newcastle United this summer,” the statement read.

Commitment to Club Interests and Supporters

The club further stressed that while they understand every player has personal ambitions, all decisions are made with the best interests of the team and supporters in mind. 

Newcastle also reiterated that the conditions required for a transfer have not been met and are unlikely to change in the immediate future.

“We want to retain our best players, but we also recognize that players have their own perspectives. However, as explained to Alex and his representatives, the priorities of Newcastle United, the team, and our supporters come first. The conditions for a sale this summer have not been met, and we do not see those conditions being met,” the statement continued.

Liverpool’s £120 Million Bid Rejected, Newcastle Hold Out for More

The tension intensified after Liverpool’s £120 million bid for Isak was swiftly rejected by Newcastle earlier this summer. 

Reports suggest that the Tyneside club would only consider parting ways with their star striker if an offer of £150 million arrives—an amount that would make the deal one of the most expensive transfers in football history, ranking third overall.

Dispute Flares After Isak’s Individual Recognition

This public dispute emerged shortly after Isak was named in the 2025 PFA Team of the Year. The 25-year-old opted to skip the award ceremony, citing his difficult personal situation with Newcastle. 

The decision further underscored his determination to push for a move away, despite the club’s reluctance to grant his wish.

With the summer transfer window closing on September 1, the standoff between Isak and Newcastle is expected to continue until the final moments.
