Liverpool have finalized a deal with Newcastle United to sign the 25-year-old striker for a fee of £125 million. 

\According to a report from The Athletic, The Magpies will also receive an additional £5 million through solidarity payments, bringing the total value of the transfer to £130 million. 

Isak is scheduled to undergo his medical on Monday before signing a six-year contract with The Reds.

For the second time during this summer transfer window, Liverpool have set a new benchmark for the most expensive transfer in Premier League history. The investment in Isak surpasses the fee The Reds previously paid for Florian Wirtz.

Newcastle had already bolstered their squad earlier in the window by signing Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart for a club-record fee. 

Although the German forward was initially viewed as a successor to Callum Wilson, his arrival only intensified speculation about Isak’s potential exit.

Currently, The Magpies are making a strong push to finalize the signing of Yoane Wissa from Brentford, who has also made clear his wish to leave the London-based club.
